IM cursed at racing.... - 10.23.2005, 07:48 PM

I am cursed at racing, so far, through the 3 races i went to. The first one, i had tuning problems. Never was able to race in C-mains. 2nd race, tuning problems again, got to the A-mains, but i was regiestered as "DID NOT START".... 3rd time (today), i did really good, got 2nd in my 2nd heat! got to a-mains, finished the race at what i beleive was 4th (other people's car broke). Found out that i didnt have transponder.... :( I am cursed, My revo tranny is acting weird lately too... Oh, a-mains in my track are 15minutes, plenty for a lipo powered revo.... Maybe in unlimited class? Well, season is over and i gotta wait till april! but i might have my dream car by then!

If you race like you act sometimes on these forums, you're going to have problems. Calm down, breathe and think. If you're thinking at 90 mph you're going to make mistakes and if you're impatient you will not get the tune right. It's ok to be excited, i do every time i go to a racetrack, but don't let the adrenaline take over or you'll lose control and make mistakes

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

I can not speak for a rc race. I can say though that I used to get so pumped up at the drag track. It is not hard to make a mistake. Take crazy jr advice and papas to. :p

Peace!

You just need patience and practice. If you don't run your car in different conditions, you can't tune proper when you need to. It's like this, if you only race you don't get enough practice( tuning or driving ) you won't be able to do it when you need to. When i was slotcar racing, If i missed a week of practice, i needed an hour to get right or i couldn't keep it off the wall to save my life.

What i'm tring to say is you need to play with it when you can, so you can race when you have to. Just don't let it affect your school studies, this should be your top priority
