Gorilla Maxx version 1 repalcement parts - 09.13.2008, 01:44 AM

CORRECTION ITS A G2 not the original version (my apologies)

I decided to use my 2nd MMM V2 with a UBEC (since no one wants to buy my MMM anymore and I am afraid that it will just fail with them and blame me...whew I've been waiting to say that )

Anyway, after 15mins of slow start I decide to pull the trigger...my car went dont a slope and it seems to have stopped...i rush to it notice that the truck made a 90deg turn...further inspection showed that I've bent the skid, cracked it and broke the servo plate of my GMAXX. It seems there was a rock underneath a 5" tall grass...skid plate hit forcing it to turn left and doing the damage.....here is the aftermath

Underside

Servo plate

Anyone know if the G3 skid and servo plate will fit the version 1 of my gorillamaxx? Any other suggestion is welcome as I urgently need to replace this parts

The good thing is that MMM survive 15mins...for a change other parts was broken

Ouch!!!!!

The V3 should fit. It's the rear end that's extended compared to the V1 IIRC. Get a titanium skidplate for that. 6061 aluminum is butter compared to titanium or 7075T6 aluminum. I'm running a set of GA titanium skidplates (ebay is your best bet) for my G1.

The bottom plate on that looks like the G2 chassis not a the original GorillaMaxx (v1). Call Gmaxx. I needed a rear plate for my G2R and they had one for me when I called them looking for one.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Lito, I cant find one now on ebay or maybe they are not posted international...

James, (did I get it right?) do you mean the skid or the chassis? Skid is actually a FLM skid plate...but you are right I checked my previous thread and this is indeed a G2 Chassis...thanks for the correction

to be honest at this point I just need them to be replaced with a durable replacement so I can run the EMAXX again

i got the the parts yesterday and mounted them...the new servo plate from have lesser mounting holes so I have to find a different place for my RX box....

I noticed that the Gorillamaxx skids are short but I tried it anyway....after a few minutes it immediately accumulated lumps of grass and mud on the space between skid and bulkheads...is it really this short?

So far my 2nd MMM(unmodded) with UBEC is still working.....

Runtime: 25-30mins (with a few minute rest since I almost lost a wheel locknut, My fault I forgot to tighten it)
Driving type: Bashing and hill climbs (wet grass)
Motor temp: 130-140DegF
ESC temps: 100-110DegF
Batts temps: 80-90DegF

Aye, the stock Gorillamaxx skids are really short. I use a Hardcore racing Ti front skid, but they are discontinued- GARC or NewEra racing have Ti front skids though. Just keep an eye out for rocks...

Here's a set of the Hardcore Titanium skids on EBAY .I use them, and I think they're great.

Don't buy from that guy on Ebay. He listed a lot of UE parts such as Lightning, CVDs, EXT suspension but before the auction ended, he pulled them off.

He told one of the guys in UE that there was an error on the listing so he pulled them off.

This is also him:

Has anyone noticed this http://cgi.ebay.com/U-E-SuperMaxx-E...1QQcmdZViewItem on ebay again? I know it got sold a few weeks ago for $399. But something probably happened.

I checked the seller's feedback and it says that he had 13 feedbacks for a month but there was only one showing.

Jeff, email billytrucks123.com. Ask him for a titanium(Hardcore or GA) skid. Tell him I sent you.
