I like these. They look just like the dish wheels on the big truggies. Not like the 1/10 buggy wheels that came whith it stock.
I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Nothing is wrong w/pro-line. Just looking for some black rims, that's all. I suppose I could die some white ones.

RIT fabric dye - I've used it to dye a bunch of RPM white traxxas rustler fronts and it works really well. Half a bottle in an old $5 stock pot, boiled for about a half hour. I've grazed quite a bit of the wheels away in some accidents with none of the white showing underneath.

I dyed my 40 series Wabash wheels like that on my Maxx and some of the white is starting to show.... maybe I didn't leave mine in long enough.
Anyway, I suggest getting something like the Proline 30 series wheels and tires. I believe they make a 30 series Wabash wheel in white, you could dye it black. Would look pretty trick.

for sure, if you race on a rough track I gotta say I'd recommend going with regular 2.2 wheels though. The 30s look nice, but with very low profile tyres there isnt much to soak up stones and stuff like the more cushy tyres normally do. Makes for a bumpy ride on a coarse/rough surface.

I am the same way about my wheels, you can pick the dye up at Wal-Mart in the household cleaning suplies. When using the dye just be sure to use about 5 table spoons of table salt. Your stove will need to be hot as you can get it and the dye and water needs to be at a hard boil. BECAREFUL, the dye will make one hell of a mess if you get it on your countertops.

Why the salt? I will be doing the dying on the grill!

I picked up the dye today..both powder and in liquid form, which one to use, or does it matter?
I will be only dying 4 wheels...so I should put in 1/2 the package and several table spoons of salt, let boil for 30 min or so, mix occasionally, .....anything else?
