not working. 96 MB ram and xp just do not get along. i was hoping i could use this at the track. its a tiny laptop. comes off the docking station and doesnt even have a CD drive. i can buy 128 MB off ebay but i still dont think it will work with XP. OF course someone lost my copy of WIN 98. anyone have one?

Without 256MB as a minimum, XP won't do much at all.

And .net recommended 512MB....

I'd give the 128 a shot. I know windows 2000 and xp are "different", but I've had good luck getting win. 2000 to work with very low end hardware. I ran it for years on my pentium 3 with 128mb of ram, and I also got it to work on a laptop with an old pentium with mmx processor. Its not like you need to run any other application than just the castle link, if you cant get it to work, see if you can get a hold of 2000 pro and try that, that is if the castle link will work with it.

98SE will only work with a clean installation and ALL of the Microsoft updates. The problem is that Microsoft no longer supports 98 so the updates are not available from Microsoft and the sites they are available from could be a problem. Because of this, and the fact that 98SE is a 10 year old operating system that hasn't been supported for over 5 years, we no longer support link set ups on 98. We are in the process of changing our packaging to reflect this change.

The link works well with 2000 Pro as long as you add/update .net framework and install MDAC 2.8 both available from Microsoft.
