Stripped a CVD Hex Screw.... Now what?

Now... I stripped a cvd screw, that leads to the rear diff.
I tried a punch, a punch with a hammer, and another punch.. Don't have room for a hacksaw or dremel... Sigh, How do I remove this stupid screw!?

I'm screwed aren't I?

I usually hammer a larger hex key into the damaged area.

Depending on if the stripped screw still has a head, and if you can get to it ok, I've had a lot of success using a dremel with a cut-off wheel to cut a slot across the top and then using a flat-head screwdriver to remove the screw. This has saved me a bunch of times.

But, I can't fit a hacksaw/dremel, and other type of cutting device in that small crevice.

You may need to pull the diff out to get better access. to it.

No, you would want a reverse drill bit. When it starts to drill into the stripped screw it grabs it and then unscrews it. A regular drill bit is tightening the screw as it tries to drill into it.

Assuming its a 3mm screw you could probably use the 5/64. it would be a little stronger.

Thank god the cheapo ones from eBay came today. I was just about to bite the bullet when I came home (I was thinking when I was walking home from school, about a mile), and saw two nice packages. My new body for my E-Savage (GT-1 for HPI) prepainted, and a package from HK. I was like what the hell did I order from HK? And openeded it, saw my hex screws with handles. Very purty, but opened it, went into my brothers room (newly adopted RC room!) and flipped the EMaxx over, and tried to unscrew it. Took some strength, as I remember I used pliers to completely screw it all the way in last time, but thank god for the handle! Whew! Anyways, I'm happy so far!
