Sweet mod for any serious revo racer.. truggy mud guards, done right... - 10.22.2008, 09:33 PM

Ok so here is what you need...

RPM True Tracks 80562 (cheaper off fleebay)
8ight-t Mud guards LOSA1724
SportWerks Titanium 50mm hinge pins SWK9000
SportWerks 3mm e-clips SWK2292
2-zip ties

You will need to trim up the dirt sheilds to avoid contact on the inside a little bit and you will need to drill an extra hole to lace the zip tie through and drill the standard hinge pin hole a touch bigger to fit. This mod takes minutes and is AWESOME!! It is a MUST have for any serious racer iMO, manya days my revo's rear shafts and arms had 20lbs of mud caked in after a heat or main.. this really helps keep that clear and keep you in control of your truck!

PS I know I have a few holes in the pictures on the top of the mud guards.. I tried other ways of mounting first.. those are not needed, simply slide on the longer sportwerks hinge pin and zip in the other and you are good to go. I would replace the zip tie now and then to assure you don't have it give out during a race though.

Please if anyone still frequents the Traxxas site, link this over as I know others were interested in a good way to get this setup that could take a beating.

Nice but that's old stuff. I have done it on my supermaxx trucks. I actually have the thin rubber or plastic under the lower arms too in order to protect my UE setback arms.

Ya I tried rubber stuff and a lot of other mods.. this is the only one that actually holds up for any length of time.. *ie a full night of racing ;P the others just couldn't take the jumps at our track, well the hard landings from the huge jumps :)
