Wiring assistance.

Hopefully some of the electrical gurus around here can give me a hand

I need some assistance building a series charging harness for my v-balancer charge through balance module.

Currently how its used:


How I'd like to charge them:


The harness I plan to modify:


The wiring:




From the pictures you can see that the harness I'll be modifying is slightly different from the wiring diagram. I imagine it has just eliminated the 6th pin.

would I need to splice pin3 into the black wire that joins the two packs in series?

excuse the quick and dirty PS wiring in the last picture, basically just trying to show the basic balance lead wiring

That last pic doesn't look right. The order of the cells is wrong in your proposed image.

To get an idea, scroll to the bottom of this page. Select the Trackpower setup under the "Charging through main leads" header in the dropdown list. The result is for a Hyperion connector, but you should be able to at least see the wiring scheme...

Yeah like I said quick and dirty, But thanks for the clarification Brian. I just wanted to make sure I was headed in the right direction

I use and balance 2x 2s trakpower packs in series as well. I bought a second trakpower balancing lead and wired it up like this.



You don't have to remove anything on the first harness. You just unclip the 2 red wires from the second harness, and clip them into the first harness, putting the small balance wire first (position 4). You won't need the negative wire from the second harness, because the bridging wire will make it the same thing as the position 3 positive wire.
You can do it your way as well (as long as you follow Brian's wiring diagram), I just choose to do it this way.
You can still use that harness for balancing a single pack as well, you just don't use the last 2 wires that you added.
