need weight - 11.27.2005, 12:16 PM

welp, after bragging about it's lightness i just got punished today. i was on my first drive with the a new aluminum spur and the 20 cells. for a short time i was in heaven. it was pullling mini wheelies at not even a half throttle and was so responsive, i was amazed. and then after 10 seconds, "whirr, whirr , whirr". it just whirrs and won't move. i found out that the center transmission got a broken spur connection to the shaft. the small pin that holds the shaft to the spur twisted the spur!

i'm looking at ebay right now for a hardened steel center transmission. if anyone know where i could buy these unbreakable ones, please tell me! thanks

I WANT THAT WHOLE CENTER SECTION BULLETPROOF!!

I am not sure what pin you talking about. If you run the light weight gears they will not hold to bl. I run the stock gears in the tranny for the strength. just need the metal idlers. I you talking about the roll pin in the input shaft it has happened before.

Peace!

ok, i'm cool now, i dremeled a couple of jagged edges on the aluminum spur and replaced the worn out pin with sowing pins, and geared down the pinion from 22 to 20 teeth. it should hold until i get a real bulletproof system.
