Build One, Get It Right, Part It Out, Do It Again !! Life & Times of a Crawler Newbie - 11.11.2008, 08:33 PM

Well I guess I'm not really a "noob" any longer. But I still know that I have a long long way to go.

Got hooked on Rock back in April of this year and it seems to dominate my R/C endeavours as of late.

I figure I have waited waaaay too looong to post up my comp. AX-10 Crawler. So here goes:

I started fairly simple and upgraded along the way to get it to this point in about 6 months.

Thanks for looking.

-Doug

I had this truck crawling very well. Moving up 2 spots at each comp and even placing 1st on one of the course's. I was finishing in the Top 10 at most comps w/ 18-23 entries at any given time. 2 of the guys we crawl with placed Top 15 at Natty's so motivation is HIGH. I got to the point where I felt I "had to have" dig to get keep advancing towards the podium. Yeah, no brainer huh?

Here are some of the pics:

As of last week this truck no longer exist. It has been totally parted out and spread around North Carolina helping many other's with their AX-10 build.

All I need is the XRay towel and were good

My pain is getting this next build ready. I absolutely despise the downtime. It's gonna be nice when it's done though. I should have just about everything by this weekend with exception to the HH dig swiches(out of stock).

Yes I still feel your pain, I'm waiting for parts all the fricken time.. I've got two controllers off to MGM, a Nue motor, CC motor out for repair and don’t even get me started with what I’ve pre-paid for and not received yet.

That looks great Doug. A crawler is most likely in my future so I may be hitting you up with pm or two. I have an area out by the track that I think I could make into a rock pile. If it's called a rock pile. :) What do you mean by dig?

dig is a feature used in the unlimited class usually

It allows the driver to "Lock" the rear axle in place and only send power to the front axles. This decreases turning radius and can get you outa tight situations!

They also have rear digs avail taht lock the front and run the back.

fun stuff!

Sound pretty cool. Thanks for the info. I'm finding there's a lot more to these crawlers then meets the eye.
