Mugen MBX5R .

Hello.

What you guys think about Mugen MBX5R ? Is it good car for brushless conversion ? I am maybe putting Feigao XL motor and MMM to that car if I get it. I am not sure about the batteries yet, Zippy-H or polyquest is maybe my choise.

I just converted one. I LOVE it. it handles amazing, I have a neu 1515 1y and mmm in it on 4s and it is an absolute beast.

Avoid feigaos, not best choise.
Take look on 60mm Medusa MR036-60-2200 if you race, Power will be exact what you need. Not too powerful...
on 4S faster than nitro on 5S beast.
Medusa takes preorders to 70 and 80mm cans MR036-70-2200. They will have more torque and on race you need to be careful with your trigger finger. Super for bashing. Longer cans will heat less too.

Zippy-H deliver very good power for your application. I am realy satisfied with Zippy-H,
Polyquest are top notch. You cant go wrong with polyquest. Only bad thing that they are realy long, not allways possible fit to the chassis

Nice ! Is it strong car, no fixing all the time ? I can get one with cheap price. I don't know that what kind of batteries I am buying. Maybe 2 batteries first, this battery: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s..._3S_25C_Lipoly what you guys think about those batteries ? They are not cheapest but I think that they worth it. The continous discharge should be bigger but I think that its good with motor like Medusa.

A buggy is amazing for converting; Dafni has an MBX5, and i had an MBX4; Dafni was using his Mugen intense, and the wear on the Hudi parts is outstanding.

They are very tough, and they handle like a dream.

Mugen's are notoriously strong. It is a very hard buggy to break. Last week at the track I pulled into the pits when my lvc came on. a guy overshot the last corner and entered the pits at full throttle. he rear ended my stopped buggy doing about 40, nothing on mine broke, he bent a shock shaft. 1/8 scale buggies on a whole are rugged, mugen being towards the top of that list.

Wow, that is amazing !! I didn't know that they are so heavy stuff. But its very good to know that they dont break every time when driving, its very good thing. I might get one cheap Mugen MBX5R from one guy, so I looks like that I will buy that car.

I am looking some motors and batteries first, then I buy other things.

But I am very happy to hear that you guys like Mugen's .

Mugen maybe one of the toughtest buggy ever, realy good for noobs and good basher too
What you plan to do? Do you want sick fast car or reliable race buggy?

For racing 4S is enough. If you want race with feeling that you have enough power to burn any nitro go 5S. 6S is waist. on 60m 2200KV motor
For battery i recommend no go much over 500g weight.
On your link is 3S bat or you plan to use it in series, if yes too much weight ~700grams
Once more: with polyQuest you cant go wrong. Every PQ bat from 4000mah feed your buggy easily. Avarage amperage what buggy takes is about 20A only with peaks to 120-130A.
If you go budget Zippy-H will do job fine too, you dont see perfomance in real life. Only maybe in numbers on datalogger.
So continious 100+ Amps is enough

I am maybe interested to buy 5S LiPos, because I were planning 6S batteries to hongnor X1CRT Pro truggy, and it was almost too much.

So 4S or 5S would be good, and Polyquest have good batteries I see.

If I don't find good Polyquest batteries, I will maybe take Zippy-H, thats my plan.

Medusa 60mm or 70mm sounds good to that car. If I have enough money for motor, Neu would be best choise, 1515 1Y .

In my opinion NEU 1515 and Meusa 70mm long overkill. I race only and handling is top priority. Too much power hard to handle and same with weight.
For buggy 1512 and 60mm medusa best bet
For truggy 1515 and 70mm medusa
But this is only my opinion.
If you plan 5S 60mm medusa its more than you can handle.
with 5S 4350mah bat geared 40+ probably you get 15+ min of run time, depends how fast you gear it.

What are you thinking about that battery: http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...P-EVO25-50005S ? Flightpower is very good choise too and price is not too high, weight of that battery is not too much I think. Other choise would be this: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...C_-_50C_Lipoly .

Either of those batteries are a good choice. They will perform comparably. I would go for the flight powers just to support Mike! but other than that reason you can not go wrong either way. Make sure you get an appropriate kv motor for 5s lipo.

What kv would be good with 5S ? I think that something like 1500-1900Kv . What pinion is right to Neu 1512 and Medusa 60m ? 5mm pinion ? Both of them looks good.
