What now?? - 12.04.2005, 08:38 PM

Hey Guys I just got my 9920 and 8S installed in the pede today.

I programmed as told do to do and figured everything is o.k.

When I first started if I gradually give it throttle and then increase as I went the truck would run o.k.

But as soon as I tried to just "floor it" it would act as if there was no single. At a dead stop and i'd "floor it" it would just jump forward as if it wanted to go. I assume this is cogging?

Well it happened everytime!! Any ideas?

Seems like you are using 6 cells (possibly old or cheap?), and the 9920's BEC. When the battery's voltage drops low enough, it can cause the BEC to stop, and lose the signal. I have never run low enough cell counts on a low turn motor like that, so I can't be sure.

I'm running 7 cells CBP3300 cells. CBP=Cheap battery pack.

I'll try the GP's and see what happens hopefully soon.

:S ?

I forgot to mention this started at the beginning of a freshly charged pack.

Those cells aren't rated to handle much. At a pull of the trigger like that, the motor can easily pull 70amps or more, and that's why good batteries are needed.

id say try a receiver pack or a ubec or sumfin. my rs4 mt used to do somthing like that when i ran it with out a receiver pack. if i putched it, it woulded go at all it would just sit there and like lunge forwared alittle bit then stop then lunge forwared the stop lol, it would never get going but a receiver pack solved my problem, i could punch it from a stand still and it wouldent studder at all :P. i had a 7018 and a chily peper motor running of a super cheap 3000mah stick pack

I'm thinking it is the CBP batteries. I'll use the GP3300's next chance I get. Hopefully tomorrow evening after basketball practice.

Wish it didn't get dark so early!! ARG! lol. If it does turn out to be the batteries that sucks. Looks like I have 2 junker packs to loan out hahaha.

I did have a UBEC in the E-maxx with the 9L and remember having similar problems. Must of spaced it being the batteries while I waited for the new controller to arrive.

Thanks guys . I'll report back soon.

Don't feel bad, I got 4 packs I'd blow up in short order if I used them with the brushless motor in my stampede.
