Clamping a 540L motor..

Having trouble with the endbell on my 8L falling off - whats the best way to stop this happening? I was thinking some sort of clamp, but the RC-Monster one I think is too big to fit in my RC10T? Anyone measured the thickness of the heatsink bit?

the clamp is really not that big. What part do you need measured
I can measure it for you.

It sticks up about 8mm and 45mm wide across

8mm is going to be way too big I think :( Looks like it'd hit the tranny housing. I have around 4mm to play with on my current setup.

that is only on one side to mate. Do you got a pic of where you trying to put it? It may help out. There was another clamp on the market to that just clamped the motor. I can't remember where i seen it.

I used 2 part 5 minute epoxy to glue mine back into place. Works good. Now I can't get it apart even if I try.

Yeah, the rc10 has got too little space to fit the heatsink/clamp.

Pop Mike an email, perhaps he has got a clamp only.

On the other side of the motor, there's even less space :( The only avilable space is so you can move the motor a bit to change the gearing..

Will shoot Mike an email now and see if he can come up with anything. I've never used epoxy before so a bit hesitant to try it on a motor. Is it like working with fiberglass car stuff?

No, epoxy is fluid, a two component glue/material

Perhaps using the heatsink/clamp, but dremelling away the excess material to provide clearance is the best option. This way, you get some benefits of heat dissipation, as well as a secure endbell.
