Fisher Price 12 volt power wheels - 01.18.2009, 05:33 PM

like these ones here
http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/

my son wants to modify my grand daughters pick up truck power wheel

these things are powered by two motors that look like emaxx size motors..they use a 12volt battery...some of the guys on that site series two and three batts together

we are wondering if you could use lipos like we use or nimhs batts to power these things?

Stock motors, no mods. It is an old jeep, I think it may have been a 12v model.

Don't know what "how many 1" means.

I'm sure if you found some way to find larger RUBBER tires, and not plastic ones, the stock power would be plenty, no?

Good question, in my experience modding my son's you can't fit tires large enough to make a real difference in speed. I ended up bumping my son's to 18V and it makes a nice difference, may even try 24V one of these days.

I would think that the plastic wheels act like a "slipential"...saving the drive train....rubber would grab too good for the plastic drive train parts

imo

I've always found that intriguing.. They slap on plastic tires, that never wear out.. Huh

I guess 24V + Rubber Tires + Bump = Nice Big Bruise

What kind of controllers do these things use? Are they capable of 24+ volts? I might snatch a couple controllers out of these things and build a bicycle. Is there a way to use our hobby ESCs in conjunction with the controller/reostat that they use so we don't need a reciever?

The answer is no. And yes, mine is faster.
