T-Maxx Brushless conversion options ? - 01.20.2009, 09:31 AM

I've dusted off my dead T-Maxx and was thinking of going brushless with it. this would strictly be for bashing, I would want to get it capable to do stock T-Maxx speeds.

I wanted to ask you all if the CC Mamba Monster w/ 2200kV is the only combo that can push a T-Maxx ? Are there any other BL combos that will work (i.e. are less expen$ive) ?

I have been reading up and there appears to be 2 options when it comes to modding the T-Maxx to accept a BL power system.

Method A:
• Convert the transmission to Forward Only
• Fabricate a BL motor mount (I was going to hack up an E-Maxx mount)
• Remove the braking system (some have suggested retaining the mechanical brake and channel mixing the 3rd servo to relive the BL motor of braking duties and thus reducing heat in the motor)

Method B:
• Transplant the T-Maxx suspension into an E-Maxx roller
• Strengthen the E-Maxx transmission w/ steel (or other metal) gears

Thanks,

DaveC
