Welcome to the forum!

Some important questions:
How much do you want to spend?
Racing or Bashing?

Lipo or Nickel batts?

I'm sure we can find something for you :D

You say mess around. What do you mean? Do you like to go fast, run a long time on a charge? Have a decent combo of the two.

Peace!

for the traction part I like the tires mike has in the store. They are rc logics spikes. they grip awesome for loose stuff and snow. The gorilla maxx is a nice chassis. If you want a good bashing chassis I like the fastlane machine one as well. It is cheaper as well. That is if you build a maxx. I like the maxx myself.

you might want to consider a g2r revo. the handling and suspension is far superior to the maxx.
