DIfficult to say since the photos are a little bit dark. Can you post up some more pics so we can see what you are trying to do? The project looks clean, but hard to see.

Got Problems!!! - 02.17.2009, 11:33 PM

OK Jerry2KONE, but just give me sometime...for your info, the ESC is the Speed Passion Silverarrow 1/8 ESC, and the Motor is the Silverarrow 6.5R V10. I did put everything together and did the test run last nite with a HotRacing 21T Pinion Gear and 2 8.4V 4600mAh Eastpower Battery But I found out that the ESC won't take anything that's more than 14.8V so I'll have to get 2 more packs of 7.2V battery(THAT'S REALLY SUCKS BIG TIME!!!) But that's not the MAIN PROBLEM, the problem is that the HotRacing 21T Pinion Gear's Screw is LOOSEI mean after I put that tiny screw in the pinion hole, the tiny screw SWING LIKE HELLLLLLLLLLLL. Now, I've to wait for my friend to order another pinion and that'll take at least 5-10 days from HotRacingOr maybe I should just get other Brand Name Pinion Gear instead!!! Anyway, will keep in touch
P.S. any suggestion about the pinion gear??? I'm using the STOCK SPUR GEAR, 68-TOOTH (0.8 METRIC PITCH)

Not sure. - 02.17.2009, 11:59 PM

Not too sure without seeing the pinion gear, but I drill & tap out most of my setscrew holes and install the next size up. It is my experience that the little tiny 3mm setscrews are just to small and weak to holdup, and usually end up stripping either the head or the hole. I believe that all of mine are now 4mm hard steel setscrews with blue loctite(http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLR68), and they hold up much better for me. In some cases I even place some shrinkwrap over the gear end to keep the setscrew from comming out even if it does come loose depending on the location or access. Good luck with your setup and we look forward to seeing your updates and photos.

Nice setup. - 02.19.2009, 01:39 AM

Your setup looks nice and clean. Much better pictures, thank you. Are you sure that the large double disc slipper will fit on the 68t spur? Just asking since there are two sizes for the RR DD slipper kits. Anyway I have never seen that ESC before. What? Where? How? Who? It looks like a very nice design. I like the metal vented protective covering. Looks cool. Please share your test results with us once you get it up and running.

Hot racing have setscrew issues. I got smoething from them and the screw was way too small... If you have some others laying around try them, or go to the hardware store...

Just take alook at this web site http://www.speedpassion.net/ GO UNDER PRODUCTS, THEN 1/8 COMBO SET, the ESC is Silverarrow, and the Motor is Silverarrow 6.5R V10! Both are for 1/8 Scale...Price is about HK$2,000.00, so is about US$260.00 a set. Should be a pretty good for you guys!!! BTW, since I ordered all these stuffs...
Robinson Racing Hardened Steel Spur Gear 68T New E-Maxx 1 $27.99
Robinson Racing Dbl Disc Slipper Kit Steel 72T Traxxas 1 $36.99
Robinson Racing Xtra Hard 5mm 8 Mod Pinion 22T 1 $11.59
I think those stuffs that I ordered from RR shoul work ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!!! If not, then that's just SIMPLE(I ORDERED THE WRONG STUFFS)

Thanks for the info on the Silverarrow ESC/motor combo. Once you post up your test results I may have to try one in one of y Maxx project trucks. I do like the way it looks.

As for the RR DD slipper stuff I havedone the same thing on other purchases that I have made. That is why I have lots of spares for my trucks now. Such is life.

well, i guess i'll just have to wait for the stuffs to get to H.K., then i'll tell you if it's working or not. btw, glad you like the SP Silverarrow i think the SP products are pretty good, maybe not the best. cause i got 2 set of the Inspire(BL ESC+BL Motor) one with Sport Tune BL Motor, and the other with Crawler Master S BL Motor. they both do work pretty good
