just recieved Mikes lipos!!!! - 02.17.2009, 06:08 PM

I just got a package with my new 5s 2500mAH lipos to run in parallel in my E-revo and i have to say they look great and are nearly the same size as my 2s 5000mAH polyquest hardcase, this is great because i won't have to adjust the battery compartments much in order to change packs).

Anyways i want to figure out if i will be able to set up my new 0610i Duo to charge one of my polyquest batteries on one side and one of the RCM batteries on the other so i wont have to reset everything like i would have to if i charged each set by themselves. So basically i would have one side designated to charge the 5s 2500mAh and the other my 2s 5000mAh, and i would simply switch each pack when its done for the other matching one.

Also, i recieved my CVD's (MIP 1665) as well as my hitek 7995TG, ill post picks as soon as i can but this week in school is killer on me, an exam, two quizzes and tons of homework will be keeping me occupied.

If you have to have more room for larger 4S and 5S single batts...just modify! Good idea off traxxas forum

I think you'll be more than happy with those packs. Dual 5s 2.5Ah is the same setup I'm running in a few vehicles, except in a single 5s2p format, and they work great.

On to your question: Not gonna happen. Even in you paralleled the 5s1p packs as a single 5s2p pack giving you the same 5Ah setting, the voltage is not the same as a a 4s pack of any capacity. Doesn't the duo have profiles you can select from? Just set one to charge your 4s PQ packs and another to charge Mike's packs.

I think 5s and 5000mAh should give decent runtimes, im getting anywhere from 25-30 minutes out of my 4s 5000mAH setup, so if i gear for relatively the same speed on 5s i should get a little bit more runtime.

I just received the duo and haven't really gotten to know it yet (in fact i haven't even used it as my 1515/1y is in for warranty repair at Neu), so im not sure of its capabilities and was asking those who already have and have used it. And as far as the pack charging goes i was aiming for what you said last, 1 side to charge 1 of the 2s packs and the other to charge 1 of the 5s packs at a time, not a total of 4 packs at the same time.

Urgh, I've tried something similar to that to fit larger packs in, and the straps on the underside of the body just get ripped apart and destroyed in no time (depends where you drive I guess). Same happened with my FLM Rustler chassis, straps that are exposed underneath the chassis arent a good idea.

The two channels are like two seperate chargers, even all the profiles are seperated. You can save up to 10 profiles on either side. So yes, you could have one side with your 4s packs already selected, and the othe channel with your 5s packs already selected.

On a race track I would see it being a problem. If your crawling over rocks, then yeah...it will snag them.

Nah not crawling over rocks, racing and bashing is more of the problem. Unless your just race the one track over and over and have your suspension tuned perfectly for it and never screw up, you're going to bottom out some time, and when that happens it damages the straps. just a little, but there is damage. repeat a few times you either snap the strap (rustler) or the strap tears open (erevo) and you're expensive lipos get thrown far away :p

Nice job on the mount. I like that fan protector too. A piece of fiberglass filter material might be good to keep dirt/dust out.

Thanks, i just brazed it together with silver solder, its actually really strong as i can pick up the entire truck by the speed control.
