Battery question on new flux, 2 7 cells? - 02.21.2009, 06:33 PM

I just ordered my new flux, is it true you can only run lipos? I have a set of 3cell lipos but would like to run my 7 cells also if possible. Thanks

The reason people say you can't run nimh would be because nimh batteries don't have a high enough discharge rating. If you have nice nimh cells I would guess they would hold up. I have never tried it or read about it so I wouldn't exactly know...

You might want to mess with the mmm settings and see if you can't limit the power so the nimh pack doesn't get overstressed.

If they are quality cells, and high mah you should be fine. Set the punch control to 70-100% and you should be ok. I ran a set of 6 cell tenergy 4500mah on my G2R with a Novak HV 4.5 and with a MM/8xl. The packs got pretty warm but they held up and the truck still had plenty of power. My G2R HV 4.5 did a standing back flip them and I have it on video!!!
