B/L 1/5 savage - 12.30.2005, 02:56 AM

what do u guys think of a brushless 1/5 savage with carbon tvps and a three speed and powered by a 9xl and 18 cells? do u think it would b underpowered? i want to jump to 1/5 scale and i have a savage roller and i found .125 12"x24 cabon sheets for $72 so it could b done pretty cheap.

The TVP's wouldn't have to be CF, hit ebay and check out Speedy Metal's 1/8" thick 6" x 48" sheet for $14, cheaper, and maybe even easier to cut........at least because you won't get cancer from the smoke/dust it'd put out.

cant do aluminum i have a townhouse and have u ever heard what a jigsaw cutting aluminum sounds like inside

here is a pic of a template i cut out it will extend the wheelbase to 475mm same as the FG trucks

Whoa! The FG's are really huge arent they?


The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

One of my friends has an FG touring car and its about a meter long and 65 centemeter wide. Huge indeed.

ya they r big and expensive the body cost twice as much as the carbon i ordered for this project

Yeah, i woudlnt go over 1/8 scale for anything, anything bigger just doesnt seem like and r/c anymore!

But the one + on a nitro 1/5 is the motor is bigger and theres no need of tuning , just maitnance ... PITA!

there should not b any more maint then my emaxx. and it wont b nitro its going to b brushless. it should weigh about as much as my emaxx im going to start with one 9xl and if its not enough ill run a mega 22/45/2 which has more than enough torque.
