No , the casing is the same. The input shaft is the same as is the output shaft. But the transfer shaft is different.

i'm thinking about using a flux tranny in my conversion. it all depends on whether i use a plane esc or a car esc. (braking options)
the flux tranny can't use mechanical brakes as far as i know.

I would disagree with that. It has all the mounting points for the mech brakes.
I had my 3speed right beside my Flux and they look teh same on the outside.
After I recieved my "new pulled from kit" flux tranny off ebay, I had to shim all the chafts and all the gears. The big gear on the idler shaft was really loose and wobbling around.

I'm going to use the Flux tranny with mechanical brakes, just set the brakes on your controller OFF!

yes the idler gear 44t/shaft set #100905 and washer 6x15x0.2mm #86972 is different but the rest looks like whats in a savage 21. so i want to get the savage x gear box #85052 and the flux idler gear&shaft + the gears from my 21 and that will give me a flux tranny. i hope....

You also need an extra pin and E-clip!

Then you have the parts to convert

Joram
