Is 50mm medusa no use??!

I accidentally bought the 50mm can version to go in a truggy which I now realise is too small can for 1/8th (running 5 s)
Am I right in thinking the only difference in 2200 70 or 80mm is the can length resulting in better cooling?
If so then I will have to sell the 50mm as I can't see what I can use it for.

Also have a Mega Motor 1700kv, again with approx 50mm can, same rules apply I guess?

the 70 and 80 are just bigger motors period. More coils and more magnet.
A 50mm is great in my CRT.5, its like a .12 or .15 nitro.
If you want .28 BB power, you want a 70 or 80mm motor.

The 50 is great in a CRT.5 and I think I'm going to run one in a Slash too.

I assume you're talking about the 22/30/2 mega. It will push a lighter truggy much better than a 50mm medusa. For the time being, use the mega and then upgrade to a 70mm medusa.

Im sure Medusa would be willing to take the 50mm back and part exchange it for a 70/80mm motor, assuming it hasnt been used or modified at all? (assuming you bought it direct from them)

There's guys on e-savage.com running 50mm Medusas on 3s and 4s in their 7lb E-Savs and they haul ass just fine. My ST-1 truggy weighs the same as my E-Sav in electric form (7lbs), so while it would be more efficient to run the larger motor, I don't think your truggy would be slow on the 50mm. You won't be doing wheelies, but wheelies aren't fast on a track.

Hi Chris, the Medusa 50 should be perfect also for 1/10 Touring car. I've just ordered one of them for my Associated TC3.
