My new brushless setup for e-maxx - 04.03.2009, 06:03 AM

I have just order a tekno neu 1515 3d 1360kv motor for my e-maxx truggy, it is for run on 6s 5000mha on my MMM V3, it is going to be gear for 40mph, It is good setup? What runtime can I obtain?
Regards

Thats not a terribly common motor choice for 6s lipo- you will need to gear rather high to obtain ~40mph, which will hurt your efficiency and run time. You would ideally want a ~1600kv motor for 6s lipo & 40mph topspeed- the 1515 2.5D (1650kv) would have been the optimum choice really for an MT, lots of power and great runtime.

Runtime in itself is very difficult to guess, it depends on many many things like specific battery choice, terrain, driving style, ambient temps, vehcile weight, wheel/tyre choice and so-on. Best guess- with decent lipos and under racing conditions, something around 20-25minutes sounds about right.

Ok, then the motor will be hot???? In impaktrc they say about the 1515 3d that: This is an ideal truggy motor on 6s (22.2v). Great efficiency and super torque.

Max motor rpms will be around 30k, nothing wrong with that. I doubt a big block nitro motor can push out much more rpm.

As long as you can gear it for 40 I see no reason it will not perform well. Voltage drop will not be much due to the lower kv motor and 6s lipo. I have been experimenting with lower kv motors and think they are the way to go. 4 pole motors like neus have plenty of torque, and the higher gearing needed to get the speed out of them does not seem to bother the motors at all. You may want to run 50+% punch control, but other than that I think you have a good setup.

I think you can expect around 30-35min of runtime with mixed bashing, and maybe 20-25min of hard track use.

Ok, then it is a good setup, I think that a 1360kv neu have a lot of torque and I can run with large gear on 6s in my e-maxx, My e-maxx weight rtr is about 11lbs
