A123 cells galore.. - 05.28.2009, 06:23 PM

Ebay auctions

$70 for 12 cells, I make that $5.83 a cell, plus ~$20 shipping. If you can find a better deal than that, I'll eat my socks.

Now only if they weren't so big. And heavy. And if they had better capacity. And if only they came assembled. Then this would be a steal!

Can they be flattened down so they match normal lipo form factor?

Woot! Thanks Neil! I've been waiting for a deal to come along. If I could afford it I'd buy a few packs... but 12 will do for now.

LOL @ BrianG- I suppose you could hit them with a hammer, but that might not do them much good. Its just a shame they only really fit emaxxes and 1/5 scale stuff, but then again, everyone has an emaxx dont they?

Good deal. Are these genuine A123 cells or some chinese knockoffs?

They bear the copywrighted A123 Systems logo, so I hope for the seller's sake that they're genuine.

I have a 50 ton press... I can flatten them to any size you want... no guarantee they still work when done though.

Just run 1p, they are like 70c cells right? I am sure the voltage drop is not that bad...

Says those cells are 10C, 70A cont. Not sure how they got that- If they were 10C wouldn't you get 23A cont? If they do deliver 70A cont, the cells should be about 30.4C.

I think they are referring to a 10c charge rate. I think.

hmmm... I think that's for testing the life span, not the maximum continuous rating.

"70A continuous discharge
120A, 10 sec pulse discharge"

70 ................120
2.3 = 30.4c....2.3 = 52.2c
