mmm controlling 2 Neu 1406 motors? - 05.28.2009, 09:52 PM

Question for you guys,
Is it possible to run 2 Neu 1406 motors off one mmm?
This setup would be for a clodbuster, which for you young guys has one 540 per axle stock. I would like to run two small brushless motors, without having to run two MMM. Not rock crawling with it just bashing around the yard. Not looking for super high speed, maybe 30ish or slower. I choose the 1406 because it comes with a 25mm bolt pattern (same as the stock 540 motors).

Unless you can sync the 2 motors by running them on a single spur you cannot run 2 bl motors on 1 esc... Why not get 2 MMs and some 3s capable motors? Like medusa 50-60mm 3000kv or so? About the same price as 2 1406 and 1 mmm...or cheaper.

no clodbuster is moa - axles move independently - this is technically possible on a car that uses 2 motors on a single transmission

To be clear; does the vehicle have a motor on each axle, or both motors attached to a motor plate on a central transmission. If the latter, syncing may be an issue and would be better served with a single motor. If the former, it should be possible since there is no mechanical syncing that needs to be done since they don't share a common spur.

I have never had any crawlers and I never was interested in it, so there's nothing to "remember". So, if it is a motor on each axle, then syncing them would be impossible due to wheel grip. While theoretically possible, it's always best to use one motor per ESC for brushless.

Psst. It's spelled "axle".

On second thought, I think I will just sell both of my clodbusters, and focus on my lst2's
I just thought it would be neat to have a bl powered clodbuster.
Thanks guys..............

I too am shocked Brian doesn't know of the clod. That was like, one of the originals. It was the maxx truck before there were maxx trucks. It was the creme de la creme of the r/c world in 19yesterday. SHAME

Just get a pair of sidewinder 4600 systems... That will move a clod pretty good on 3s!

I would keep the clod, I have one somewhere and planned to make a super class crawler out of it. Pretty much already setup to that spec anyways.
