E-Maxx 3906 CAD Drawings? - 05.29.2009, 05:35 PM

Does anyone have or know where I could obtain CAD models for the 3906? I'm working on an autonomous robot using the e-maxx as a base chassis, and I want to draw up the electronics/sensors upper deck as well as do a render for our sponsorship package. Trying to cut some corners by not having to model the parts myself. SolidWorks is preferred, but any at all is good.

Thanks for the help!

Well, none exist of the stock 3906, but a guy on the beatyourtruck forum has done some partial models, only with his custom designed chassis:

Obviously you'll have to contact him and see if he still has the files, but he should be able to help... probably.

There was someone on this board also that had one - I almost got the files from him (he wanted some $$ for it), but my buddy hadn't gotten his machine up and running yet. In the end, that saved me some bucks - I'm out of the Maxx game now. I'll check my pm box to see if I still have his name. If I dont respond, that means I didnt find it.

Thanks Neil and Jeff.

I remember Nick's E-maxx and the fridge magnet conversation ;) The annoying parts are mostly the things that arn't sort of '2D'. Things like the stock chassis, transmission and differentials will take a while to draw up. If I can't find one and we finish ours, I'll probably post it up.

Its definitely been done. One of my student colleagues is working on it now on his spare time, but we have more important priorities than the full model right now. Anyway, here is the picture of the one I found. I've contacted them, but, no response yet.

Hey Jeff, the HV Maxx ESC caught fire last week. Haven't figured out the culprit yet, but it was fun while it lasted

Dude - that sucks! Was it the ESC, or the capacitor? Hopefully Novak will take care of you.
If you look in the Novak forum, you can see that we have had our own long term issues with the HV Pro my brother in law has....

The guy I talked to with the model only had the top chassis modeled. I couldnt find the PM I had with him - I wonder if it was a Revo that he had modeled???????
