First look at a few new chassis extras - 03.01.2005, 12:06 AM

Here's an image of our new blue foam pads - now available.
Also, a first look at our HD (heavy duty) Carbon Fiber battery hold down. This is a prototype cut in fiber glass - the production will be carbon. It has 2 parts that interlock - a flat part with a foam pad and a vertical section that stiffens the center. It will also include to aluminum posts and a stainless thumbscrew to lock down your packs.

The velcro straps are still going to be the standard for the chassis. The HD kit will be sold as an option like the motor mount.

Let me know what you guys think.

thats just plain cool!

Those battery hold downs, how much do they weigh compared to straps? And what price are we looking at? Will these HD hold downs be usable with side by side packs? Like do they have those grooves to cradle the batteries?

Nice work!

The straps have the battery grooves and work amazingly well. I tested a prototype a couple months ago and have been anxiously awaiting the release of these. I am not sure on the weight, but whatever it amounts to (not much), it is worth it, especially if you bash hard or jump high! These straps hold the batteries very well.

That is the difference. The Carbon Fiber straps won't stretch like the velcro and are stronger for sure.

For the ultimate battery security, get the CF straps. They show nice, too, so you only need one set.

The velcro will still come with the chassis, so you won't have to buy it seperately anyway. The CF are an additional hopup.
