I rarely buy from my LHSs. When a spur gear in my Rustler strips, however, I do get a new one from a LHS (it's just easier that way). If I break a part on my XTM X-Terminator, then I go to another LHS to get that replacement part (it's a Hobby People, which is a branch of the company that owns XTM). Otherwise, I buy everything else (batteries, motors, controllers, materials, etc.) from the internet.

i dont waste my time going hobby shop, my hobby shop is really dare and they only have a few parts in stock for a couple of buggies and just a few savage parts. They dont sell and traxxas stuff lol. Thats because rc over here isnt that big but it is growing really fast so hopefully in a couple of years we will have a real LHS with everything lol.

Seems i break the part they don't have that week, order it from tower and it appears the next day at the LHS
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

What I hate most is when I break a part while racing and the shop doesn't have a replacement.
I broke a carrier in the front of my TC3 "O" Thursday night and the shop didn't have one. The buggy uses a 4 degree carrier and the shop only had 0 degree carriers.
DOH!

If you know the part number, send Mike an email at mike@rc-monster.com . He's able to get just about any current HPI part from his distributor, so don't be afraid to ask. There's just so much "stock" he can keep at his house, so not everything he can get is listed in the online store at RC-Monster.com.
As always, it's a featured goal to make RC-Monster.com a one-stop shop for your R/C needs! :003:

*sigh* if some of you guys only knew what we go through to get junk for ya'....I work at a LHS and let me tell you the times that stand out are the times that people go nuts on us. At the shop I'm at we're 10,000 sq. ft. and we stock just about anything you can imagine and offer support for vehicles that we sell (about 50 different ones) and although on a good Saturday we may take care of 250 people in r.c. alone (not even counting airplanes, helis, trains, games, airsoft, rockets, models, arts/crafts, paints, tools, etc.) we will take care of 200+ problems yet those handful that we didn't have the part for freak out on us. Trust me I know where your all coming from but try to think about how many parts there are for every vehicle and then try to think about what it takes to keep those shelves full and organized 363 days a year, it's much harder than it looks, plus if your shops are like mine where else can you get free one on one help with an expert?
Ok my ranting and raving is over start with the evil comments. :)

I work at the Santa Clarita Hobby People, even I get annoyed when we don't have the part I need. For whatever reason, this week they decided we didn't need a shipment.......just hope we don't get a massive one next week!

I hear ya' my other obsession is rockets and I take care of that section and one week Horizon/GP decided that we didn't need anything so we got squat.
Then the next week out of no where I got a "double" order with well over 400 items....I don't know what is wrong with them sometimes.
I understand the frustration but I do hate it when people act like we don't care, as if we want the shelves empty and that we don't order.
