Hyperion EOS0610i - 07.31.2009, 08:38 PM

I was wonder does anyone have this charger? I just got mine in the mail today, THANKS MIKE! I see that its got a PC port, but no connectors to connect it up. Is this something extra? Where can i purchase it? I would think that a near $300 charger would have a cable and a POWER SUPPLY. Also what are you guys using for POWER SUPPLIES on this charger? Anything else i should know about this charger? thoughts, suggestions

Thanks

250watt 10amps, so you'd need a powersupply with ratings equal to or great than that (to allow for electrical losses & inefficiency).

Im tempted to get the software and cables for my Bantam BC6, to see what the lipos and a123s are doing whilst charging- Internal Resistance would be great to know for sure.

that 480w pc ps is rated for all channels driven, your 12v output is less than that. 20 amps x 12 volts is only 240w, then subtract 20 percent for inefficincies.

this is what I use with my 610i http://cgi.ebay.com/12-Volt-DC-30-Am...d=p3286.c0.m14

did you mean a 610i duo? because the 610i is a $150 charger and the duo is closer to the $300 you stated. The duo is rated for 500w and would need 600w worth of power supply......

I've done the PC power supply mod and I use it to charge my batteries for my RC8 and RC8T. Works well enough although it's a bit ugly. I can chargea 5S pack at 5amps without any problems.

I use a pair of 46amp server power supplies to run my 4 hyperion chargers. They only put out about 12v, but so far seem to be very solid. Accidentally left the PS on for about 2 days and it was very cool and has no given me any issues yet...

I got them off rcgroups, just look up member "feathermerchant", he has a few different Ps in various ratings with the plugs alread soldered, etc. Nice guy, and fast shipping. Or you can mod your pc power supply, since you have one!
