Recommendations for MM 8ight buggy setup. - 08.04.2009, 08:22 AM

This is the mamba max that I'm talking about. Not the MMM just to clarify that so it's not confusing for anyone.

I am going to be running an 8ight buggy as the title states with a tekno conversion, and wanting to use a mamba max speed controller. I've got a MMM but it's out of commission right now. My question is what would I need to do to make the MM run cooler? I had one before on my traxxas rustler, and it always seemed to get pretty hot but never thermaled. I want to run the buggy on a 3s and one of the ccneu motors. So for this speed control and lipo setup which would be the best motor? the 2650 or the 2200? I'm looking for a good compromise between heat, and runtime. The longest main I would be in would probably be 15-20 minutes.

As for running the ESC cooler, can I just replace the caps that are on the board with new ones or do I just put the cap on the power cable like I've been reading? One of the caps on the MM board is crushed right now so I'm already going to to be soldering a new cap on, if it would help just to get different ones then I'd rather just go ahead and do that while I'm working in that area. I guess I'll be getting a fan too. Probably scavenge the fan from my sick MMM for the time being.

I don't know what exact gearing I will be using right now but I will want to gear for around 30-35 mph.

Thanks in advance you guts for info you can provide.
