MGM TMM 28025-3S E series no BEEPS - 08.07.2009, 01:47 AM

Brand spankin' new ESC, and can't get it to work... I am unable to get a Beep out of it..

The BEC works, I can move the steering servo..
I see the Green Led
I see the orange let momentarily when I turn it on..

I have 2 other MGM.. so I'm familiar with the programming.

I have tried reversing the throttle channel. still no luck..
I made sure throttle channel gets full EPA.. still no luck..

Any ideas..?

Don't know if this helps, but I believe the batteries have to be full when programming.

I treid it with a 6S with about 60% juice in it.. and a fully charged 4S.. I'll try it with a fully charge 6S when I get home.. I really hope it works..

Tried a few different fresh batteries.. nothing...
The green light stays lit.. when the switch turns on the orange light stays on for a few seconds, then goes out.. Tried on DX7SE and no luck either.... Ordered a USB COM++ with CC02 and CC03.. Man, this really sucks!!..

I had the same problem with my MGM. I solved it by plugging the programming wire(cc02) from the esc to the usbcomm the other way around on the usbcomm.

I didn't want to try it, I was afraid it might damage it or something....

so you had the servo end of the CC02 on the Reciever, and the other end on the USBCom++... whereas they recommended the other way around?..

nope, servo end goes in the usbcomm, and the other end into the esc (just as recommended). I reversed the servo connection on the usbcomm (180degrees)

I just plugged my MGM to the usbcom and it worked fine using the setup they list.

Perhaps the ESC is not seeing the neutral correctly and won't arm. Have you tried to calibrate it? (ie set all EPA and trims to 0, then turn on ESC w/ full throttle)

My MGM was an opto, for the USBCOM, I needed to plug a battery in, plug the CC_02 cable into the usbcom, then turn on esc switch to on. There are LEDs on the usbcom you can watch as well. When just plugged into the usb port a green led flashes. When the CC_02 cable is plugged in properly a red led flashes (so that the green and red now flash once back and forth...red, green, red, green..)

When you turn on the esc power, the leds now flash very fast , like a HDD LED on your comp does when you write a big file to it. The software should say the esc is online now. Make sure you have installed all the software to the comp first before doing this.
You may need to widen the neutral range, but it may take some playing with in the SW.

Failing that... you can reset all the settings in the esc by holding full thr while turning on the esc for ~10secs. You may have to hit Rev when it prompts. Read the manual for the proper directions.

BTW, I was using a Futaba FASST, with the THR channel set to REV.

Also, first time I did connect the esc, I had to wait a while, like a minute or two before it connected. IDK if it has to finish installing, or takes a while to find first time or what. Set it all up and let it sit for a bit. The comp should make a "usb device connected" sound as soon as you plug in the usbcom.

Also, make sure the SW is setup to see the USB port and not a COM port.

Yeah, Finnster.. I played with all of that for more than a few hours... I've tried everything except plugging the cable in the other way...

Problem is, it doesn't beep at all... THe UBEC works fine though... It doesn't take programming from the Tx and/or USBCom++ I haven't even used this ESC yet, as it never worked.... but I keep trying because the BEC Works on it...I took the shrink wrap off and tested all the wires and solder joints.. everything was fine... I'm really stumped with this thing... I've tried everything that I could think of...

Have you tried running it OPTO and using a Rx pack or a External BEC?

Yeah Lutach, I've tried opto...
Hey Finn.. I let the thing sit on the laptop and took off for a while... I came back, turned the switch on and it read the data.... I am able to access the ESC now.. but still unable to get any beeps or respons from Transmitter... I've tried a few transmitters... still no results... but the funny thing is, when I looked at the Controller program... it shows..

Maximal current Peak [A]: 94.72
Current in full throttle [A]: ------
Voltage of battery at switch off [V]: 14.912
Max. Temperature [C]: 306.43

the voltage and Temp looks very funny to me... Even when using a 6S battery to program it doesn't change.... I don't understand that 306.43 Degrees Celcius data?... what are you guys getting?... Haven't even use this thing yet..
