you add a set of Terapins to it. Got bored and thought I would give them a try on the G3R. Actually a lot easier to handle these 7" tires on the G3R then it is on the Savage XL. Fun tire to bash with, lots of bounce to them. The usual downfalls of a larger tires, rollovers, larger turning radius, etc. The MMM didn't even get a work out on 6s with them. These tires are extremly light for thier size. I haven't weighed them yet but they are lighter then any of the smaller MT size tires I have. It was fun to hit some of the larger jumps that I usually only take with the Savage XL but these gave it enough extra that it didn't slap the ground hard with the chassis.

One of the downfalls of winter in the Pacific Northwest is the early sunsets we get. It dropping fast, couple of weeks ago it was 8:00 - 8:30pm. It more like 6:20pm now and will end up peaking around 3:45pm for winter. So out come all the different ways to see which way your RC is going. This one is the light setup off an old VHS Camcorder on 2s lipo hooked up to the wing.

Needs aircraft nav lights...

I do enjoy using my maxx with the big, heavy & unwieldy jumbo maxx rubber, just turns a truck into a real animal, much more of a handful and more enjoyable as a result.

Yeah, that sums it up perfectly. It's a different beast with those big terapins on it. I have to take back what I said though. The G3R is stable running the terapins. After I put the lst diffs in I tuned the suspension a bit (set the camber, toe in, and lower the front end down) and now it handles great at wot. Just don't twicth the steering any and it does great. Actually it's better to just take you hand off the steering once you got it going straight. lol

No kidding these are a blast to run. If any of you get a chance to pick up a set of them off ebay for cheap. Jump on it. You will have fun with them out bashing.

how are your diffs and driveshafts holding up with that size of wheels?
looks very cool, I should add this to my revo to replace my badlands.
but I'm afraid for my diffs

I installed the LST diffs and are using trx steel shafts. So no problems in that area. Even if that wasn't the case I wouldn't worry too much about any added stress to the system. The Terapins are pretty light. The last time I weighed tires I think one tire was only 11oz. I have a set of badland MT tires also and they were around the same weight if not a little more. I remember the 40s moabs were like twice that amount in weight though. You'd want to watch you temps becuase the tires size will change your rollout. The added stress on the differential is usually due to heavy tires and/or better traction that 40s give you. These are light and my badlands have better grip then these do. These have decent traction but the best part is the bounce you get. Like Chris said though.....

they are great fun.
