Need a new body for the XT8...suggestions?? - 11.03.2009, 01:17 AM

So I have built the XT8 and do not like the stock body. I love the low profile look of the mugen mbx6T, especially the Losi 8T 2.0, and the Losi 2.0 JConcepts punisher body(also made for rc8t). So can anyone suggest which of these would be the cleanest fit. Sorry for the new thread...just wanted to get it ordered tonight. I will then remove it. I searched with little to know info on fitment of other bodies. I also am not a huge fan of the JC body for the xt8.

I agree with you. The Xray body is about the worst truggy body out there. The rest of the truck is beautiful and they chinced out on the body IMO.

I use the Mugen MBX6T body on my XT8'09. Its actually a perfect fit if you use the Mugen rear body mounts. I had to drill new holes in the rear shock tower to get the Mugen rear body mounts in the right position. Here are a few pictures.

One with it mounted. Not a great shot but its the only one I have.

Showing the Mugen rear body mounts on the XT8'09 tower. Sorry for the dirt. Picture was taken right after a rather wet race day and it hadnt been cleaned up yet.

This one shows the position of the screw holes I had to add to make the Mugen body mounts work properly.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

That looks clean and exactly what I was hoping for. So I am assuming that the 08 version xt8 will be similar set-up?? With the mugen mount?? Thanks for the assistance.

Biggest difference would be the older XT8 is arround 10mm shorter, but I would think the body would still fit fine with the rear body mounts modified.
