Good second battery? - 11.03.2009, 06:37 PM

Hey guys,

Well I have finished my 8T conversion and I've only had chance to try it briefly for two runs, but wow...impressive!!

Anyhoo, got a Hyperion 6500mah 4S which looks to be pretty sweet but was wanting a slightly smaller, cheaper battery for heats and bashing....had a good root around Hobbyking and this looks to be a decent spec and price, any thoughts?

Also, anyone know of somewhere in the UK to buy these as I'd like to see the cost here? When you add on the shipping and the import duty then it starts to get a bit pricey

Not in the UK- if you do find them for sale on ebay buy importers, they pretty much double or triple the price from what I've seen. You are much better off £ wise buying direct from hobbycity- sign up to the site and you should see a slightly discounted price, and can specify the price on the shipping label to avoid customs charges

That lipo should be fine though, they are very impressive packs if you dont push them insanely hard- good for practice and general bashing for sure. If the 30c packs fit, those would be even better, but the 25c ones are accurately rated from whnat peope report.

Yeah, trouble is that the 30C is $65 whereas the 25C is only $46....quite a difference!!

Thanks LC, had a quick look but for a 5000mah 25C 4S then they are still about £100.

Looks like Hobbycity might be my best bet.....
