My last question on brushless system - 03.04.2006, 07:21 PM

So I decided to buy two 3s2p packs and wire them in series. But the only problem that is left is that I am worried that the individual cells in each pack may discharge at different rates. And though my lvp will detect if the pack goes below 18 volts (3v per cell), it won't detect the individual cells voltage. So while one cell is at 2.2v, and the other cell is at 3.9v (or something like that), I could be looking at a destroyed lipo.

Will a balancer solve this problem?

I'm buying from maxamps. Anything they sell will stop this?

Should I go 10xl, or 9xl with this setup (10xl is in stock at rcm). I will most likely be running either a 12020 or a 20150 micro car.

Are the gold plugs preinstalled on the lehner motors able to be swapped with 5.5mm gold? If so I may go with a 2240 or 2250 hiamp. Speaking of which, what is the KV rating for the 2250 hiamp, and where do I buy it?

Thank you!

I'm not aware of any device which monitors individual cells on discharge,(unless does FMA skyvolt do this?).Use a balancer for charging and they should remain balanced enough on discharge not to do any damage.

The Hi-amp motors don't come with any connectors on,the wires coming out the back actually seem to be the windings, easy to change plugs if they do come with other plugs installed.(my 1950/10 hi-amp didn't).

Go herehttp://www.bk-electronics.com/to see specs for the Lehner motors.(click on the pic of the motor). The winds shown in gray come in hi-amp only, all others winds can be ordered as standard or hi-amp for extra.

Mike can get anything from the bk site. The 9xl or 10xl would be good on 6s. The 9xl give touch more speed and 10xl more run time. You don't need a 20120 or 20150 esc for them though. I ran a 9xl on a 7020 with no heat problems.

Peace!

i would run 2 3s packs and not i 6s pack. its certainly easier to find than a 6s pack. maxamps has some nice 3s packs.

I sorry dude. I was not refering to a single 6s pack. I was talking 6s total. 2 x3s or 3 x 2s.

I second that on the speed controller. I've been messing around with an 11xl on 6s lipo with a 9920 and it runs sooooo cool. After 20 min of running the esc and motor were around 90f. I would go with the 10xl and 9920.
