lipo puffing? - 12.08.2009, 10:52 AM

may sound like a dumb question but i dont wanna take any chances...
how do you know when a lipo has puffed if its in a pack? my setup is a 4s2p pack and i just want to be prepared what to look for if one of the cells in the middle of the pack decide to puff? would i even be able to notice?

Even when the bad cell is in the middle, it still tends to bow out the outer cells a bit. Usually, once you cut apart the heatshrink and any tape holding the cells together, the problem cell becomes very noticeable, and may even expand a little more since it now has room to do so.
