Newbie has questions about a BL setup -

Allright i just got a used emaxx about a month ago. It was real cool at first until i got on traxxas.com and saw a pic and videos of a guys BL setup. He had 2900 dollars in it, so i kinda got discouraged. Then i found this website. I'm wanting to go brushless, and i have about 600 bucks. Only wanting to run 12 to 14 cells, but want speeds over 40 mph plus have enough torque to pull the wheels of the ground while I'm running. Part of the money needs to go toward a chassis and cvds. Also im using these 3300 mah batterys from all-battery.com, they run alot better than the 1500 nicads i got with the truck, but have any of you ever used them? Will they be sufficent to get my BL setup to perform how i want it to?
Got a link to the batteries? 40mph on 14 cells won't get a great runtime, and will requirte some diff/tranny mods along with your cvds in time. You can replace as you go, but prepare to get a couple upgrades to handle the power.
Welcom to the forum. For what you stated I would suggest a 7xl with a bk 9920. You will need some upgrades. Cvds and steel idlers are a must. If you batteries are not good. Your performance will show.
Peace!

yep, 7xl/9920 would probably be what you are looking for. Has plenty of torque and speed. I run it also. The 7xl can also take more than 14 cells if you want more speed also.
What kind of run time do you think I would get with that setup. Also if I'm content with the speed but not the run time, couldnt u run 2 6 or 7 cell packs in parallel. I dont think you would be adding voltage but you should double your mah. So you would have 24 cells total but only get the voltage of 12, I think.
I had a look at those batteries akratz, and I don't think they will be up to the job for brushless. You should be able to get a decent set of GP3300 14cells fairly cheaply. One essential thing to rememeber is your motor can't put out more power than your batteries can provide - so if your batts are crap, then it doesn't matter how powerful the motor you stick in the truck is, you still won't get much speed.
So the radio shack gp 3300 is what i should try. Ill get a set of them and ill compare. Those batteries seemed to work allright but do i need to discharge them every once in a while cause they dont seem to have the punch they had when i first charged them. when i first got them they worked better than my 3000mah power max pros by peak racing. I got a set of them off tower hobbies, and there more expensive than the GPs from radio shack, but im not sure if there very good either
