380c 6l vz. 8s or 5300

how would a feigao 380c 6l compare to a feigao 8s or lehner 5300 in a stampede/rustler? i know that both the 5300 and the 8s are capable of 60 mph. just wondering if the 380c would be similar. running 6-7 cells for now but hopefully going to 2s-3s lipo sometime this summer. i've heard a lot of good things about the 380c but havent heard of anyone using it in a pede/rustler, so im a little hesitant to try it.

I think the 380c might be a little too small for a rustler or stampede. They're fine in 1/10th sedans, but I don't think trucks. Either of the other two would be good, though I don't know if you'll get 60mph reliably with them.

I have a 9l in a t3, its pretty crazy.

the 380c motors from what i have heard work well in stampedes and rustlers

i think that most people underesstamate the 380c's. id be willing to beat that the 380c 6L will put out just as much or more torque as a 8s or 5300

My t4 has a 380c6t, and has so much power, that the tires baloon when it does donughts.This thing is way too fast for the track... this thing is so under-rated...

I believe the 380c has way more torque, and the 8s has more top end. I am not sure about lehner.

Im kinda new to r/c, but when its not moving, and I slam the throttle, it seems like its going so fast, that the pinion cant grab on the spur, I dunno if thats the slipper or whatever, but once they lock, this thing flies..

I think it would come down to how big of a tire you run as well. I don't think the 380 has more torque it just winds up faster so it seems like it. JMO

the 380 6L is what he wont to compair not the 6T. ya the 6T i wouldent run in a stampede maby a rustler but not a stampede. the 6L should power a stampede just as easy as a 8s and prolly better that the short 5300 if given enuff voltage imo.

As said earlier, most underestimate the light/high rev 6L. The "L" makes the diff as you need torque with the 380 rotor. I run RPM StableMaxx wheels on my WidePede & 380C-6L & highly recommend it, it delivers the torque. I run it with my Tmaxx and its amazing performance. BK 7020 ESC on 7cells. Get extra 4tec steel stub axles tho.







Maxx tire is 5.75"x3.75". It looks small compared to the 7"x4" Moab 40 on the Tmaxx. My modded Maxx was radared at 46mph. I made a "speed run" on 7 old GP3300 stick config at 20/84 gearing on Masher 2K tires and the Pede wasted my Maxx, it's over 50mph on the 380C-6L (7cell).

380C-6L has big wires, & uses them if you got strong batts, recommended. 7-8 strong cells and you'll break stuff. I use neg expo on my TX.

With the Maxx tires (another 1lb extra) the 380C-6L still turns the rears into pizza cutters (when held up). On the ground, it still cooks, ~40mph, and motor never goes above 60C (constant runs), its heatsink works. ESC hits 70C, powered by tiny 4cell 2/3AAA NIMH, so no cogging here, I've even used a 7cell 1900 Nicad. Haven't even tried my new 3800 sXs packs yet, just made em.

For a Pede/Rustler, the 380C-6L is great. I think the heavier 4400K/V 540 8S is a good motor, but amp/cell hungry, not as efficient on low cells, no heatsink, JMO. I wanted my Pede on 7 sXs & decent runtime. The Maxx rubber hurts the runtime a bit, but I can always get some Komodo dragons as I have my orig maxx rims, when I want to race around ballistic style.

Working on it... will post a link when I can, still awaiting much needed Swami bar, full tilt results in instantaneous lidflip (been weeks now) and 4-tec steel axle stubs (my stockers are broke).

Meanwhile here's what it looks like against the '06 Tmaxx.


2006 Tmaxx on left (40+mph), Maxx-Pede on right (35-45mph with 6-8cell). 4" ground clearance on both, Maxx-Pede is 4lbs lighter, as it needs to be since it generates just over half the Tmaxx 1.33HP. Maxx-Pede has 4deg camber 4-tec rear hubs for stability.

Whats the overall width of your MaxxPede? I was gonna do a similar thing with my Stampede, but decided against it and just brought an Emaxx and thew brushless in that instead.

I have a high opinion of the 380C motors, I have a 380 9t and 8t (non-C versions, so no heatsink). They work brilliantly in my stadium trucks and buggies, the 6L on 8 cells would be a sweet setup, without being too amp hungry so you still get good runtime. When I used to run a 540 6S on 8 cells it gave sweet power (on good batteries), but runtime was always a bit lacking.

I'm not with it now, but will measure tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it's ~3/4"inch less width than a standard Emaxx/Tmaxx stance. And this is using the HPI nitro rush front arms (WidePede) for equal arms, nitro shock tower/front spindles, & RPM StableMaxx for 1" more width. I think I'll pop for the FLM "25mm more" chassis to get the same wheelbase as the Maxx series, it'll save me from dremeling to death (batt tray & cooling) & it looks cool and is 6mm.

Even tho the Pede can hold more cells, I like to jump it, so I wanted fast & light. The only relatively low amp, high torque/KV BL was the 6L to me it seemed. 7cell packs, 70A ESC, and ~69A BL motor seemed to add up to cheap fun, & it does. Only real drawback is 2WD (power slides tho), & possible durability issues. I'll use FLM alum where it matters most, probably keep the HPI plastic front arms as they are really strong, meant for nitro use. Unsure if CNC diff is needed yet, metal axles are (steel 4-tec's anyday now, but I know they can break too). Not a big MIP fan. Plastic trans yokes are holding for now (new style).

I don't need too much runtime, but I'm pretty sure 8cell would lower stress/temp per cell & increase runtime (at same "speed" vs 7cell). Giving more power on tap, and a tad higher motor/esc temps when "tapped" into. I use a Bluebird 620MG (144oz) servo with Emaxx 96mm turnbuckles and it's really amazing how fast the truck can turn without tipping, probably due to under 6lb weight.

14" from tire edge to tire edge.

My Tmaxx is 16.75" width but has 7"x4" moab 40 on velocity 40 rims.
