Warranty Question - 02.12.2010, 03:26 PM

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else had same - I returned a fully working V1 ESC for replacement and got back a "refurbished" one in return that smells a bit charred.

Wondered if anyone else had had same...

Cheers

The moral of the story- if it aint broke, it dont need to be sent in for fixing/replacing/upgrading.

I havent heard of too many peoples reburbs being duds, one or two at most have been reported..

If you ever have a refurbished or repaired controller come back and fails, please contact Tech Support. We will get a replacement controller (new) out to you immediately, it will be sent with a prepaid mailer. Our new repair process allows for a quicker turn around, but does use a few more refurbished units. The smell is probably from it sitting next to a smelly, charred controller. Burned PCB odor lingers and gets into everything. There's nothing like opening a package and finding a bag of stinky black ash that spills on your desk and lap. If you do have any problems, please let us know and we'll get you fixed up.

I can vouch for the stench. I still have it in my computer/hobby room. And I fried my MM in early DEC. I got the refurb back a couple of weeks ago.

I do agree with Neil(if it's not broke) but with V1's the wires are all over the place and the fan runs all the time making you think your running hotter than you are. It gets old after running a nice V3.
