Good motor for 3s Lipo - 03.20.2006, 09:36 AM

What would be a good motor choice for 3s Lipo. I'm thinking a basic xl 4200 it will be in a approx 6lb vehicle, I want to stay with 3s as I have them already and will fit the custom chasis I am building. Would like the most efficient system I can find. Thanks

what kind of vehical? im assumeing a 2wd. the xl motors will probably be overkill. i think a regular basic would suffice. as for kv, i would go for a 3600 if its a xl. if not, i would go with a 3100 probably... a 3100xl on 12 cells~4s lipo is INSANE in a emaxx. so i would say a light truck with 3s and a 3100 would be plenty fast. actually, i think that there is a certain point to where you can have to much power for such a small vehical.

What kind of vehicle? 6lbs seems heavy for some and light for others. What kind of tires as well? Rotating mass has some effect on the selection to.

Peace!

The vehicle will be put together from different parts, I have Maxx parts, ofna shocks and also a center diff, stampede and rustler parts. 6 pounds or less is my goal wieght, I will try to make as much of it from carbon fiber as possible, I am comfortable working with cf and can also laminate some of my own sheets, so I plan on making my own chasis and shock towers, I will be using maxx wheels with crime fighters
