Upgrading Suspension for E-Maxx??? - 03.07.2005, 11:41 PM

So, I'm very new to R/C. I just recently purchased a Mini-T off eBay. I wanted to start there before I went for a "Monster Truck". Although I have had my eye on a T-Maxx or E-Maxx for some time now.

Even though I just recently purchased my first R/C truck, I have been researching it for awhile now. I tend to do that with something I want to get into. I love what you can do to these things. I mean you can really mack these bad boys out!. I will definately be doing a complete overhual on my new Mini! Full Alluminum and graphite!!! Nothing stock left!

This brings me to my important question... Probably one of many if I decide to get a bigger truck. The way I see it, with an E-Maxx or T-Maxx, you have maybe a half dozen choices in upgrade parts as far as aluminum goes. Integy, G-Maxx, Unlimited Engineering, and American CNC seem to be about the top 4 with all the research I've done. I'm not saying they're the only one's just seem to be the top 4.

Anyway, I will definatley want to make "my hypothetical E-Maxx" brushless and upgade everything on it to graphite/aluminum. Just like with my Mini-T. The problem is who to go with on the parts? I really like Integy. Just based on what I've seen and read, they sound good. But I also ran across the G-Maxx stuff recently and like it too. Mostly the chassis and some other things. And then there is Unlimited Engineering... Their stuff looks awesome too! I can't really decide on what to get "if" I do get one.

I think if I get a monster truck I am leaning more to an E-Maxx because I don't think I want to mess with all of the "engine tinkering", dispite the fact that I've heard that an E-Maxx will cost more between batts and ESC and motors over time. I probably won't race too much as I don't know of any place around me that does it. I just want a macked out truck to bash with and that looks awesome.

I was also thinking of just building an E-Maxx from the ground up. It would be cheaper in the long run, but I wouldn't be able to enjy it for awhile. So much to think about! I know this is a long post but I'm new and just want to get off on the right foot.

Thanks for all of your help... I know I will get really good feedback here because all of you guys love this stuff. I hope to have more to share after I get my Mini-T!
