Thunderbolt Balancer tabs -

I have a 6 cell pack. I see there are 2 balancer adaptors. One with 5 wires and one with 4. (I'm guessing the 5 wire one is for balancing while charging and the 3 for discharging)? Also I bought the TB adaptor for the blinky balancer and when I plug it up, only 3 lights come on. Does each light stand for 2 cells??
