Best gear ratio with Castle Neu 1520 -
05.12.2010, 12:05 PM
Hi all, which is in You opinion the best total reduction ratio to be used with a Savage Brushless, with standard Flux transmission and Bulletproof diff (equivalent to a Nitro Savage with gears locked in 1st gear), equipped with Castle Neu 1520 on 6s Lipo ?
Currently (see Savage Brushless on my signature) I'm using a 52 tooth Spur with a 25 tooth pinion. I chosen such values because I'm using Fastlane Forward Chassis, so it is important to have enough space to fit 6s Lipo inside the chassis, and this can be obtained maximising the diameter of either the spur and the pinion.
Because I'm also using the standard idler gear, I got a total reduction ratio of 14.84728 : 1, a rollout of 1.23:1 (using Bow Tie tires) and an estimated top speed of 41.28 mph.
What do You think ? Too high, to low or its OK ? Asking this because I'm still working on my setup, without having the chance to test the Savage on real track.
Bye, Andrea.
