While upgrading the pinion gear in my GTP I noticed the gear mesh was off a but. Upon further inspection, the motor mount was bent by about 2 to 3 degrees. Always a freaking set back, but that just means I have to make my own. I figure a quarter inch aluminum angle should be strong enough to hold the motor. More to come.
Finally got the beast back up and running. Built the mount out of some leftover 1/8 inch angle. Upgraded the pinion to 24t and the foams to Ipanema 45 shore rubbers. Even on a three cell, it is beastly fast. Tomorrow, it runs the 5 cell again. Even had a little fun with the neighbors kid. He just finished a E-Maxx and was having a good time with it. Gave him a big head start, made it up and left him. It wasn't a fair race to start with but he lined up.
