LST2 conversion ????? - 07.21.2010, 09:35 AM

Hello guys, i'am back after one year of nitro runing.
I have a brand new LST2 rolling sitting here, and i don't know if i'll put a brand new nitro engine, or swap it to brushless.

But i see that RC monster don't make any conversion kit for this truck, and when i look on internet, it seem that any other companie make a conversion kit.

I want to know if a kit exist, and if this truck is solid enough to put it brushless.

And can i keep the two speed on it??

Thank you guys

David

Is it rolling or sitting?

TD Racing has a motor mount and single speed hub. This is possibly the quickest and strongest conversion.

Losi also make there own conversion kit. As you can see the battery mount will make it hard to keep the front down.

Or you could take some pointers from RCM members here here here here here here herehere.

BUT one thing I cannot direct you to is RCM's monster truck or lst forum

The 2 speed can send small shocks through the shaft of the motor which is not a good thing.

You can get the Lois kit and trim the battery tray to use one pack and install the tray up front for much better balance.

The TDR mount is still the best tho, IMO.

Grats on the return to brushless power!
Me too after a 2 year hiatus, lol.

The LST is a very solid platform and IMO indestructible. I had 2 basher E-LST's and hardly ever broke anything on them. This was way before the Losi conversion kit, so mine was equiped with an Gorilla E-maxx tranny's and custom top plates. Ran them with the MMM/2200 combos with 4S and 6S and they were a blast!

I have a XXL arriving this week and am going to try the Losi Conversion. I'll be posting in a week or two.

Couple years ago it was the simpler method of converting a LST due to the tranny/motor mount. And have to room to run 2 packs if needed.

Also, you save about a pound of weight with it. That LST tranny feels like its made of lead!!!

Losi 8T 1.0, Savage Flux - XL style, LST XXL, Muggy, 3.3 E-Revo Conversion and sitting outside 425hp, 831 Tq Dodge Ram Turbo Diesel. It SMOKES

OK i've decided to remove the stock tranny completly, and put a center spool, with a custom motor mount.

The only thing i hesitate for now is which engine i'll put on it.

I want to run it on 6s, i will buy a Mamba monster max ESC, but for the engine, i don't know which one to take between a 1515 1750Kv or a 2200Kv.

And should i'am beter to go with a 1518 serie???

Thank you.

The 1515/2200kv will work but run very warm and not give you much for gearing options.

With 6s I'd def consider the 1518 or better yet the 1520 !
