MM Pro oddity...power difference - 07.31.2010, 07:04 PM

I have a brand new MM pro, running a 1900kv Tekin T8. I ran it a couple times and it felt like it was simply way undergeared. Good accelleration, topped off early. Well, depending on how I rolled into the throttle it changed drastically. If I slowly rolled on, it would more than double the power and top speed.

RC8BE 19/46

Just took it out of the box, so whatever firmware it shipped with is what I am running.

Also note, when it runs at full power forward, then my brakes are cut in half.......when its slow in forward, my brakes are ultra strong.

Tried sensorless, same exact thing.

Switched to 1400kv motor, no issue.

It didnt seem like a rotor spinning, you could hear a big difference in power...it wasnt like slipping. It felt like a 3 tooth pinion difference depending on how I rolled onto power.

I wonder if your magnet is slipping on the motor shaft.

I wonder the same thing, but it did not sound like it. It really felt like an electrical problem, since the issue was so consistent. When the power was strong, the brakes were weak and vice versa. I thought it was a sensor issue, but it didnt matter if it was connected or not...same problem.

That`s more consistent with your magnets slipping.

When you apply high power the magnets start slipping and loose the grip.. When you hit the brakes they continue to slip.

When you apply little power the magnets don`t slip.

Bomb-Proof, Is the Tekin motor an early model or recently bought (new I hope)? There was some problems with the bonding on early rotors

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise
