MMM and 2.4ghz? gaurenteed to work?

Hi,long time no see.I put an MMM in my summit.It WON'T work with the 27mhz radio.I've tried everything to get it to,ferrite rings,moving the rx as far away from the motor,esc.Still won't even calibrate! So I'm using a 2 ch losi 2.4 ghz with it.But no locking diffs,gear change,or reverse? (confused on the last one!) So I'm saving for a 2.4ghz 5ch radio.Tried the traxxas power up thing(exchange $100 and the stock radio for a 5Ch 2.4) But I'm in the UK,so it doesn't count!.Will it definetly work? I can't afford to spend £100 on a new radio if it STILL won't work.Any help is trully appreciated.
