Losi LST2 XXL Hubs, Spur, Clutchbell, Motor Mount, St Servo(s) - 11.03.2010, 05:37 PM

I started buying parts to make a XXL almost a year ago it seems. Got distracted, shocks ended up on the Sav Xl, used the diffs in the G3R, bought a LST2, sold it, moved on, forgot my name, and somewhere along the line lost the track of time. Well I found the track and my house again with a box of XXL parts so off I go again....

I may flip this before completion but with what I have on hand now I will be using a mm/2200 setup on 6s.

I picked up the axles and some misc parts in the first round of auctions the other day and going in for the rest of the parts in round 2 of the auctions soon. I was hoping for some clarification on some stuff before I start bidding.

Is it just the hex in losi rims and thier hex hub that are 20mm? Are the axles/cvs standard 1/8th size where other 1/8th 17mm & 23mm hubs work on the axles?

Will I need to pick up the linkage/servo horns also. I would think that a single high torque servo would be fine. Or should I stick with a two servo steering setup?

Has Mike made a motor mount or is The Dudes still the one on the top of the list as far a buying one already made?

Is the Losi Spur and Slipper Clutch the best way (only way) to go for gearing the LST2?

The LST I had the brief encounter with earlier this year was just that brief. I can't even remember her name let alone how we ended up in the same bed but ..... It looks like the Losi 2 speed is external to the tranny. I never had much luck with a brushless when it kicks into second gear for long. How does the XXL hold up gear wise? Will I need to pick up a clutch bell and adapter to run it with the 2 speed tranny? ....or.... For go that pita and convert it to single speed right of the bat?

I am going for the lowest bid on a body but what do you think Blue or Red?

Thanks for your help again guys. Going to do some more research before I commit my beer money to anything but your inputs always make it easier to swallow.

In hind sight I should of split those question into seperate threads and been looking over my shoulder at 1000 posts. Ah hell you seen one post you've seen em all.

You can use 17mm and 23mm adapters. But losi 420 wheels and tires are super cheap on ebay.

One servo is enough, the problem is the very weak servo saver. I plan to take the spring off 2 extra servo savers and put them all on one servo saver on a single servo (3 springs total) They just pull off and can be slid around one another. There is just not enough room between the top and bottom plate to use a better saver and linkage. So, yes, buy the servo savers and linkages, and either use the double servo setup or stack springs. Linc has done a muggy steering setup on an lst if you want to search

No RCM mount. The Dude's is top dog. Losi makes their own LST mount now. Search ebay for e-lst and electric lst

Yes, losi spur and slipper

The Dude makes a single speed hub adapter, the only way to go

Everybody knows red is faster

Just ebay better, get parts and beer.

That'll be $3.50

Thanks for the info Harold. Your right a wiser man would have money for both beer and parts. He would also charge a modest fee for when his experience was called apon in order to be able have both his cake and eat it too. Unfortuantly I find my self on pay day and I cannot pay you your fee at this time. I can how ever offer you a story about Free milk and a Cow if you would like..

Are you talking about Bender and Bender the law firm? Somday I am going to call that number and see just how patient that are with the elderly and demented they are praying on. lol It was no bender but has been a very pleasent flashback or trip down memory lane. Got a message from my college sweetheart from 25 years ago and the furnace is still burning. It's a long sappy story and RCM is no place for tears. I mean everyone cries after sex don't they? lol Damn it Jim, I am feeling the urge to type........

Okay some of you know me (or have at least became aware of when to skip my post and when not to) and should know I really can't help it sometime and get long winded and start typing. Just to further clarify my ramblings. They are purley for my own selfish pleasure. I do apoligize if someone takes the time and reads though the garbage and get a chuckle. It really is not my intent for that to happen. Thanks and do have nice day. Most people leave at this point some skip to the condensed summary at the bottom of the page. I usually provide one at the bottom next to the exit sign for those not at work.....Me I would just skip it all and head for the door. Your call.

So this is the short version of the rambling of an old man who meets his past here in the twilight zone.......

It is a rather lengthy story with several steamy exploits that only the forum at Penthouse would appreciate. Especially if body double were used. I can do the voice over butt.......... Anyways I should refrian from that version over unsecured lines but I will tell you this....... I've tried not to carry any regrets with me through my years but leaving her is the one I never let go. I only hoped that someday I would be able to talk to her and explain it all and make amends. Figuring a hunk like myself must have left that fragile flower emotionally scared way back them. Maybe I wasn't a hunk but being a looker is a lot tougher to do without mirror sunglasses. Practicing with a neck brace helps develope shifty eyes at young age. Okay short verions. It was stupid, foolish, and a huge mistake. There was manipulation, deciet and lies (same thing I think) and a character we will just describe as Mrs. Robinson that changed everything for the worse. The lives, the very paths they thought they would be going through together was forever changed by the Black Widow know as Mrs Robinson. Very few actually escaped her web once it was laid around them. One man (that's me my character) though was able to escape and go on to lead a lonely but what appeared to be a realitively normal life. The stocking by this widows was very disturbing and to this day I still cannont sleep on the roof naked. They oddly followed the moon cycle but they did eventually stop all before I needed to invest in the silver bullets. A life filed with disappointment knowing that at one time he had a gift from God given to him and the young lady he ask to marry him. A true gift not a wal-mart refillable credit card. A truely rare and beautiful gift that maybe only the wise can value but young and wise are never used in the same sentence. Well except for that one time right there. Okay so almost never used in the same sentance. So as his feet (mine) were dragging through life it was also filled with horrible hang overs, meaningless sex, and a wallet the was always. Not the wisest thing to do when you are allergic to penicilin. They all seemed clean to me. Luck has it they were and I am assuming the few that are no longer with us past from car accidient or natural causes. Well life became empty like the wallet, night after night tying to find love at the 2am round up only to realize it was not the one he truely loved laying next him the next morning. The horror of waking up to a large sweaty women rolled in flour finally sent him over the edge and he settile down to a meger life and thought this is it. So he picked the biggest loser and got married for a short five years. She really was the one that lost the most weight that winter. She was the most cunning too. Would hang stuff on door knob so making the 4 am escape a task often required all of my personalities to accomplish with out awaking the gentle giant. It wasn't just the fact that he was being used for a peice a meat but it was also a stragic move to escape before the sun rose. I mean riding a moped is fun but you don't want to let you friends see you on one. I degress....okay where was I Mrs Robinson , black widow, path of serveral young people were forever altered to satifies a lust that could never be satified. Blah blah Okay here we go...... for lifes of all that she wrapped her dreadful web around. If I knew that I had with my college sweetheart back then was. Black Gold, Texas Tea, another run of hte G3R chassis. Call it what your harps let you hear but it was true. I never would have jumped ship boys. It didn't take me long to realize I screwed up and well by that time she was cross country and what I pictured in my mind living a picture perfect life. Well a station wagon, white picket fence, and some flowers what always popped in my mind. I have never found or felt what I had with her again. Until now that is. Believe me I've search all over looking for that kind of love and well it was in all wrong places, at all the wrong times. If you've ever woken up and your mustache smelt like shit, believe me you've been looking in the wrong place. Grab your shit kickers and get the hell of that ranch and I mean fast boys. It doesn't matter if it was consentual or not. Animals have rights in this country and better laywers then most of us can affor. So just be careful while your in Montana drinking wiskey from a hip high wadding boot made with velcro. Okay Back to better days....... so far time has not healed all wound but with Gods blessing we can check back in around 30 more years and see. We will be getting married as soon as I pick out the colors for the napkins and table setting. I think she wants to wait until the divorce is final too but not sure if that's going to need to happen if we cross the state line. Not a deal breaker yet anyways.... jk She not married and the velcro boots were only up above the knees......

The short version.

Yeah got a motorcycle this summmer and have been enjoying riding it every chance I can. I take the baja out a lot but haven't donme much wth the other rcs this summmer.

What you talking about? That is a true story. I may have embilished a little to make myself look better. Didn't want it to sound like I was just a young kid that didn't know any better. I thought the velcro hip wadder sounded funny at the time. Never actually tried to see if velcro sticks to sheep though. You got access to any sheep over there you could try it out on one.? lol Actaully the velcro hip wadders is a memory of sorts that trigger it. I met one of those U of M Grizzillies, Grizz-lee-ets, (ah hell can't spell it so) a college girl when I was on an a overnighter to Missoula for work. It rolled over into a couple days off and a weekend to boot. Scary thought but I almost drove back over there the following weekend. It was a good time and one of reason I will never forget Quinns Hot Springs. Unless I get alls-zimer-hers which I wouldn't remember that I forgot then or would I.?.?.? As far as the Motorcycle, Mrs. Robinson and how I have thought about Ann for the last 25 years. That is true and she is back and we are together. Life is good and it been a while since I've felt happy to be kicking the flat land dirt again.

I do agree with you. You should have picked the blonde instead of you first wife. There are some women that leave that taste in your mouth for years. Hell as far as I know it may be there until the day I die. It's such a bitter taste........God she was such a Bitch! I know were not the only two that think back on some thing say that.

It is a 1983 Yamaha Maxim XJ750. It's been fun riding agian. It' has been close to 20 years since I rode last. Use to ride arouind on an 1985 Honda Shadow 500. Good thing I gave it up. I had no life and frequented the local watering holes on a daily basis. This time around it's different.
