I ran the MMM 2200 combo in my truggy for racing all last year with no problems. In fact so didn't the one other electric truggy at the track. He took 1st in truggy and I took 3rd for the season. So I wouldn't classify the MMM as a basher setup. It has been a proven performer on the track as well.
If your racing and only planning on running 4s I would recomend the 2200 combo. The 1518 seems to be a good match up on 5s and the 1520 on 6s. You can always gear them motors up a little if you want to run them on only 4s but IMO the 2200 on 4s is right in it's sweet spot and does very well in a truggy for racing
