8ight T 2,0 E. which brushless - 12.10.2010, 02:09 PM

Hey RC-monster

I need a brushless system for my losi 8ight t 2,0 E. I do not want Tekin
rx8 combo´s. what can you recommend?. I will run on 4s lipo. What about a xcelorin 1/8 2100 kv. Does anyone have experience with it?

what are you looking to spend because i was in the same situation and i have tried alot of esc's and i have always com back to mgm they are best most smooth sensorless system i have ever used. Extemely easy to program through pc and realy good cooling options plus hydro or water proof upgrades.

Wow, I'm realy very suprised I'm the first one recomending a Castle setup!

1520 from the "Castle moving sale" $70, and a Mamba Monster... Seems like a no brainer to me (matter of fact, that's what I just did :-)

If I could only draw what I see in my head, then afford to build it, and finaly get to play with it...

Yeah, the MMM is great. And the 1518 or 1520 is very cheap now. I bought a 1518 for one of my 1/8 buggies. I think its going in my tekno mbx6.

Hey

How should it be geared
15/45 or something like that..
Do you have the 1520 castle motor?
It will be used to run track. Can it keep up with the other electric truggys on the track on 4s lipo?

It seems it's still Castle MMM for bashing and a Tekin RX8 for racing. I run a RX8 & 1700 combo on 5S that I love. Unbelievable power, but still great feel.

I've had Tekin rx8, but there was only problems with the combo. It was the 2000 kv combo.. I think i will try the xcelorin 2100 kv combo.

I ran the MMM 2200 combo in my truggy for racing all last year with no problems. In fact so didn't the one other electric truggy at the track. He took 1st in truggy and I took 3rd for the season. So I wouldn't classify the MMM as a basher setup. It has been a proven performer on the track as well.

If your racing and only planning on running 4s I would recomend the 2200 combo. The 1518 seems to be a good match up on 5s and the 1520 on 6s. You can always gear them motors up a little if you want to run them on only 4s but IMO the 2200 on 4s is right in it's sweet spot and does very well in a truggy for racing

I would do some more research on the xcelorin esc before buying one. I have heard of some people using them and everyone has had some kind of issue it seems. Not many people use the excelorin esc, the motors might be ok but IMO I would stay clear of the esc and just get something that is known to work from the beginning, it's cheaper to buy once than to buy twice

I really think you should stay away from the xcellorin esc, very many people have problems with it. Just saying....

Here's the way I see it: he asked for advice, people have responded (pretty much with Castle or Tekin) and he still wants to go for the Xcelorin combo. Some people aren't going to listen, or he already had his mind set (which kind of defeats the purpose of posting this thread?) If he really wants the Xcelorin that's what he's going to get, whether it's a good idea or not.

I've searched the Xcelorin and have seen there are alot who have problems with it. So I do not buy Xcelorin its gonna be Tekin RX8 combo or mamba monster.
