Project "Cheapo" - 01.12.2011, 01:48 AM

So I was looking at my "explosion" of savage parts that I am currently working on.

Found a 3sp trans just laying in a box, and sat it on my stack of various stock tvps. Dug in another box and came up with an aveox 36/30 motor, 2000kv, and a quark airmaster 80amp esc. Then the wheels start turning (grinding?) in my head.

Since I will have a buch of spares once I am finished with the stretched tvp and 5t savages why not make another savage, kinda like the old savvy 25 I converted so long ago.

So hers what I have so far. Aveox 200pkv motor with the quark 80 amp esc on 5s lipo. Not the hottest combo, but I will gear for 40mph with the 3sp tranny and mech brakes. So that will help keep the load off the esc.

Will use the flux tvps and I have a spare flux motor plate too. The actual motor mount will likely be a mixture of a flm motor mount and some homemmade parts. Motor is 36mm in diameter. I will likely use a stock nitro radio box so I can mount the brake servo there and use stock linkages to work the brakes.

Batteries will go outside the tvps, like a flux but I will make my own trays!!! Takes that ebay chop shops!!! I have a pair of 5s 2200 mah lipos that I will run in parallel, as long as they are still ok, been a while since they have seen the light of day.

About the only things I am missing for this project is 1 diff, and a few dogbones, axles, and maybe some of the speciality hpi bolts.

Yes I am cheap, feel free to make remarks about me.

Calling one self cheap is kind of a turn off, more so if your the pimp. I get an image of a big butch biatch or..... either way I'm not interested, no matter how cheap you are.

Have fun with your savy.

I guess I should call myself thrifty!!! The thrifty pimp, I mainly cater to people on a budget!! I do agree, no one wants a "cheap Ho"...
