How do you open laptop battery packs? - 01.26.2011, 01:27 PM

I have tried prying it open with a small screwdriver but it just doesnt seem to want to pop open. I dont want to get medieval with it because i dont want to ruin the case. I know some of you guys have replaced the cells in these, but how did you open it?

The cases wont just pop open...they are glued at the seam. I've opened them using a razor blade (new one) with a stopper to keep from cutting too deep.

Your mama wheres combat boots. ha ha ha ha just had to say it. Who's the broad? Is that your mechanic James?

Anyway why do you wish to open your laptop Lipo anyway? Are you trying to replace some cells or something of that nature? Or are you just curious to see how they are setup? Our 15 year old opens his up after they are of no use just so he can see how they are put together. He is a computer geek, and wants to learn everything he can PC related. Replacing cells usually is not worth all the trouble, because getting the case back to like new condition is very difficult. Just thought I would share that. Good luck with whatever you are trying to accomplish.

I use the laptop cells in my TX, RC's, Flashlights, drills, you get the idea.

Actually when I saw the picture, I noticed the two boulders. Never saw the third one.
